Mime Theatre "A"

The LEDINĖ ZYLUTĖ National Theatre Festival for Children and Youth that was launched in 2008 on the initiative of the ŽVEJŲ RŪMAI Culture Centre and the BE DURŲ Youth Theatre changed its name in 2015 and was renamed “JAUNATIS”.

The festival is not limited to drama performances. The range of genres is very wide: musical and dance performances, pantomime, clownery, and funny theatralised concerts. The organisers of each festival do their best to develop the programme so that children of different ages (and their parents) and young people could choose what to see according to their maturity and needs - a fairy tale or a play that addresses the issues relevant to young people.

The programmes of the first festivals were dominated by the performances of amateur theatres, however, gradually they were replaced by the productions of professional Lithuanian theatres, which currently make the biggest part of the repertoire of the festival.

The JAUNATIS festival takes place every year in February. Productions are shown on both stages (in the Big Hall and the Theatre Hall) of the ŽVEJŲ RŪMAI Culture Centre.
